What we consider

We are interested in clear, distinctive ideas about household choices, garden forms, materials, seasonal life and country customs. A strong pitch has a defined subject, a fresh angle and a useful reason for a reader to spend time with it.

Shape the proposal

Include a working title, a short outline, the main point you want the article to make and the kind of reader it would serve. Tell us what makes the subject worth revisiting and flag any claims that would need specialist input or local context.

Please send a proposal rather than a finished article unless we have agreed otherwise. We consider ideas for editorial fit and clarity; sending a pitch does not mean it has been accepted, and we cannot promise a response time.
